Board of Trustees and PTA

Board of Trustees

Our school has a Board of Trustees (Medezeggenschapsraad, MR). The MR is involved with various matters relating to our school, often the more formal matters. The MR can make proposals or express opinions, whether solicited or unsolicited. The board and/or the management sometimes must seek advice from the MR (right to advise), and in some cases, the MR's consent is required. This means that decisions can only be made if the MR agrees (right to consent).

Our MR currently consists of 4 parents and 3 staff members.

The school's management has an advisory role within the MR and is also present at the meetings. The MR meetings are public. The agenda and the minutes can be read in the school app. Confidential matters may be discussed in the MR; these are then handled behind closed doors. Elections are held in accordance with the statutes when positions become available.

The Board of Trustees can be reached via email address: mr@daltondeklipper.nl

Parent-Teacher Association

The Parent Council at De Klipper consists of several parents from both our locations. The parent council supports the school in various activities that take place at school. The parent council can be seen as an activity committee.

At the beginning of the school year, we, as a school, make a planning. Based on this planning, the tasks within the parent council are distributed over the different activities.

The tasks that the parent council performs are diverse. An overview of what the parent council deals with:

  • The parent council decorates the school every season and provides catering (coffee, tea, treats) at information evenings and special occasions.
  • They arrange Sinterklaas and Christmas celebrations, including gifts, and provide crafting materials for making Christmas arrangements.
  • They financially contribute to excursions and events, such as the school trip, camp week, and activities during the project week.
  • During the project week, they sell homemade treats for a school-chosen charity and organize an annual theme party for the children.
  • On sports day, they provide catering for the helping parents and treats for the children.
  • They recruit enough helping parents for their own activities, and the treasurer manages the parent contributions and is accountable to the MR and the parents.

The Parent-Teacher Association aims for 7 to 8 members per location, and interested parents can always contact us to discuss the possibilities within the Parent-Teacher Association.

The Parent-Teacher Association coordinates the tasks but cannot execute them alone. Help from parents is indispensable here. If you wish to help around the school, but do not want to join the parent council, you can also register as a helping parent. We really appreciate it when parents want to help us with celebrations, the school festival day, creative afternoons, excursions, or chores. All help is welcome!

The Parent-Teacher Association is committed to giving all children an extra enjoyable time together with the school!
